Q: Did police ever find the woman who was kidnapped from a MARTA bus last year?

— Leah Young, East Point

A: The incident happened in May 2008 near Snapfinger Woods Drive and Wesley Chapel Road in DeKalb County. A man drove his car in front of a bus, forced it to the side of the road and pulled a woman off at gunpoint. The MARTA Police Department conducted an investigation and, despite the victim’s unwillingness to cooperate, the case proceeded to trial, MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson said. Johnnie Lee Cannon was convicted in DeKalb County Superior Court and was sentenced to 15 years, Hodgson said.

Q: What are the salaries of the trustees of the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority?

—Stuart Schwarzschild,
Atlanta

A: The 10 trustees are volunteers and receive no pay, said Denise Simpson, a spokeswoman for Grady Health System. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners appoints seven members, and the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners appoints three, to the authority. The AJC reported last week that the authority, which was pushed to the background when a corporate board was created early last year, has taken on a powerful position, serving as Grady’s chief communicator on money issues with the Fulton County Commission.
