‘Pants on the Ground' guy debunks rumors of his death
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Is the "Pants on the Ground" guy dead?
"I ain't dead worth a bit," General Larry Platt told the AJC Monday night, debunking wide-spread Internet rumors of his demise.
Reached at his home Monday evening, the 63-year-old Atlanta man whose appearance on Fox's "American Idol" made him an overnight online sensation, said this isn't the first he's heard of his own passing.
"They had it on the computer last month that I was dead," Platt said. "Pants on the ground is too smart for that."
Platt performed the song, "Pants on the Ground" last year when AI judges Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell came to Atlanta for auditions.
"Pants on the ground, pants on the ground ... you're looking like a fool with your pants on the ground," he sang, poking fun at people who wear their jeans sagging off their butts.
Platt was last seen performing his song this past spring on the season finale of American Idol.
OK. Since he's still with us, will he take another crack at music?
"We'll see," Platt said.
