Officer wins $37,777 before Christmas
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
One police officer’s Georgia Lottery win came just in time for Christmas shopping.
Recently, Tommy Steeley, a 12-year veteran with the Pooler Police Department, got lucky when he purchased a winning Red White & Blue 7’s instant game.
He walked away $37,777 richer.
“I just happened to buy it,” said the 41-year-old father of four. “I couldn’t believe it.”
He purchased the ticket at the Food Mart on Pine Barren Road in Pooler, and scratched it in his car.
After purchasing a few holiday gifts, he said he will save “the rest I’ll keep for a rainy day.”
