Lumpkin County officials say a 73-year-old man has been charged with murder in the death of a neighbor with whom he'd been having a property line dispute.

Darren Martin, an investigator with the Lumpkin County sheriff's office, says deputies responded to a call about a dispute between neighbors northwest of Dahlonega on Monday and found the body of 76-year-old Jewell Crane.

Martin says Crane's neighbor, Louis Melvin Dempsey, was arrested and has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Martin says the dispute over the property line had been going on for more than 20 years.
