The tree fell about 8 a.m. near the intersection with Riverside Road.
A pregnant woman whose Nissan SUV was hit was taken to Northside Hospital as a precaution. But otherwise, no injuries were reported.
"I was stopped at the light and next thing I know, there was a crash and my roof caves in," Jay Plotkin, whose black BMW also was hit by the tree, told the AJC. "I thought originally the car behind me hit me but then I saw all the branches and everything on top of me.
"Thank God nobody was hurt," he added.
The road was closed until afternoon while cleanup was under way.
