The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Construction is about to begin to extend the Island Ford Trail in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Sandy Springs.
The city is matching a state grant to construct the $125,000, two-mile extension to the trail off Roberts Drive. The Island Ford park area now has a canoe launch, picnic area and fishing area.
The trail extension is expected to be completed by year’s end.
