Roswell OKs economic development contract
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Roswell City Council voted Monday night to sign a $103,775 contract with RKG Associates to develop a strategic economic development plan.
The economic development plan is supposed to guide Roswell’s efforts to improve the local economy. It will analyze socioeconomic makeup, retail opportunities, quality of life and other aspects of life in the city.
The community development staff said the plan would dovetail with two other studies under way, the comprehensive plan and the Holcomb Bridge Road Corridor Analysis.
Mayor Jere Wood said he thought the comprehensive plan should be completed first so the economic plan would fit into the city’s vision for the future, but the council voted 6-0 in favor of moving ahead.
Neighboring Alpharetta is also developing its own economic development plan.
