The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Roswell City Council has called a special meeting for 11 a.m. Wednesday to vote on purchasing an empty apartment complex at 15 Oxbo Road.

Alice Wakefield, community development director, said the city needs to buy about an acre of property for a transportation project that calls for realigning Oxbo Road.

If approved, the city will put up $197,718 to supplement about $500,000 in community development block grant funds, she said.

The city would miss a block grant deadline if it waited until the regularly scheduled Nov. 8 meeting to make the purchase, Wakefield said.
