The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Fulton County and its waste-water treatment plant operator CH2M Hill worked out a deal in federal court Wednesday to maintain the "status quo"  until July 2, giving time for a county administrative hearing to review a decision awarding the new waste-water treatment contract to another company.

CH2M Hill asked for an injunction to stop the county from entering into the contract with Veolia Water North America because CH2M Hill contends bid laws were violated.

CH2M Hill had the lowest bid and county officials acknowledged that it has a good record. The county staff still scored Veolia Water North America highest overall. CH2M Hill contends the selection committee manipulated the procurement rules and process in Veolia's favor.
