Grant to fund warning sirens in Sandy Springs

A state agency has awarded Sandy Springs a grant to install outdoor warning sirens throughout the city.

The $285,683 grant from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency is designed to help the city alert citizens of severe weather via 10 sirens.

Total cost of the project is $425,000, with the remaining funds coming from the city.
