Newton county commissioner charged with battery

J.C. Henderson, a Newton County commissioner was arrested Saturday evening, said Lt. Tyrone Oliver, Newton County Sheriff's spokesman.
Henderson, who represents District 4, has been charged with battery, Oliver said.
He was arrested by Covington Police and booked in the Newton County jail. He was released a couple of hours later after posting a $2,500 bond, Oliver said.
Police told WSB-TV that Henderson was fighting with his wife. Officers arrived and found the woman suffering from a swollen lip and bleeding, WSB-TV reported.
