Soda ban invalidated

News reports say a judge in New York has invalidated Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s restrictions on sugary drinks, which were to go into effect Tuesday.

Bloomberg has wanted to address the city’s growing obesity problem by limiting the size of sugar-sweetened drinks that are sold in movie theaters,

But New York State Supreme Court Justice Milton A. Tingling Jr. said the ban was “arbitrary and capricious,”
