The man accused of shooting his cousin during an argument over music was denied bond Wednesday, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shots were fired between the two cousins Tuesday at gathering that followed a funeral, according to police.

After a loved one’s funeral, friends and relatives were at a home on Mancha Street, off Old National Highway, when the two men began arguing over the volume of music being played, Sgt. Scott McBride with Fulton County police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“The younger cousin shot the older cousin in the abdomen,” McBride said.

The victim, Willie Martin, 41, of College Park, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Rayburn McGuire Jr., 24, of East Point, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm, according to Tracy Flanagan with the sheriff’s office. He was denied bond Tuesday and will return to court March 13 at 9 a.m., Flanagan said.
