Carrollton police were searching Monday night for a duo accused of firing a gunshot into the ceiling during a bank robbery.
Around 2:26 p.m., two men entered the Wells Fargo at Bankhead Highway and Almon Road and demanded money, according to Cpl. Edwin Ivey with Carrollton police.
One of the men allegedly fired a shot into the ceiling and the other jumped over the bank counter and took cash from a teller, Ivey said. The two left the bank and got into a waiting silver Mercury Grand Marquis, but the car was abandoned about a mile away, according to police.
Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
One suspect was wearing a black hoodie that said, “I am Trayvon Martin” and a Florida Marlins hat, police said. The second suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt or hoodie, jeans and white shoes.
Wells Fargo is offering up to a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the suspects, police said.
