A: Because the NFL regards Chicago’s Soldier Field (opened in 1924) as a new facility following a 2003 complete refurbishing, Green Bay’s Lambeau Field is the league’s oldest stadium, having been built in 1957. It was also renovated in 2003 and is undergoing more upgrades. San Francisco’s Candlestick Park was built in 1960 and has been transformed from a baseball facility into a football stadium, along with other updates. The 49ers are building a new stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., that is expected to be ready for the 2014 season. The Georgia Dome opened in 1992 and had $55 million of improvements from 2006-10.
