A parapro at a school for special needs was arrested after allegedly admitting she had sex with a student at her home, according to Gwinnett County police.

Kari Lynn Bryan, 38, of Lawrenceville, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of sexual assault, Gwinnett County jail records show. Bryan was released Friday night after posting $5,700 bond.

Bryan was employed as a parapro at The Special Needs School of Gwinnett, a private school in Lawrenceville, at the time of the alleged incidents, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The investigation into the alleged assault began when a 17-year-old boy told Lawrenceville police he and Bryan had sex in her home approximately 20 times from July until May, the report states. Because Bryan lives outside of the city limits, Lawrenceville police contacted Gwinnett police.

In an interview with Gwinnett police Friday, Bryan allegedly admitted she had sex with the teen, the report states. An arrest warrant was obtained the same day, and Bryan was booked into jail shortly before 2 p.m.
