A Tennessee man has been charged in connection with a car wreck in Sandy Springs that killed his wife over the weekend.

James Straley, 74, was charged Monday with failure to yield while turning left and second degree vehicular homicide, according to Sandy Springs police.

Authorities said Straley failed to yield when making a left turn from a turn only lane on Roswell Road at the entrance ramp to I-285 westbound. The Toyota Avalon he was driving was struck on the passenger side by an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder.

Staley’s wife, Ailsie Straley, 72, was removed from the car and taken to Northside Hospital. She went into cardiac arrest and died en route, police said.

James Straley has bonded out jail and returned home, Channel 2 Action News reported.
