Several neighborhoods in the vicinity of Chamblee and the 3900 block of Clairmont Road in DeKalb County will be without water for several hours Saturday due to a major water main break.

Burke Brennan, a DeKalb County spokesman, said a 30-inch water main broke early Saturday and crews are on the scene to begin repairs. Water was being shut off to the area while repairs are under way.

Brennan said the break was “quite large” but he didn’t immediately know what caused it. He did not have an estimate on how many customers would be affected.

Check back for updates.
