A single Powerball player in Virginia matched all six numbers drawn Wednesday night, winning a $217 million jackpot.
Players in Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, New York and Rhode Island matched the first five numbers — 5, 27, 36, 38 and 41 — but not the Powerball of 12, and won $1 million each.
With Wednesday night’s win, the jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing was reset to $40 million.
The jackpot for Friday night’s Mega Millions multi-state lottery is $12 million after a player in Michigan won $19 million in Tuesday night’s drawing.
