Trailer park shooting leaves Coweta man dead

By Alan Judd

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A 29-year-old Coweta County man was shot to death early Sunday in his mobile home, authorities said.

Officers found the man's body at the Valley Mobile Home Park on U.S. 29 South in Newnan, said Maj. James Yarbrough, commander of the criminal investigations division of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

Several residents of the park called police after hearing gunshots about 4:30 a.m., Yarbrough said. In addition, he said, a witness to the shooting notified police.

Yarbrough declined to discuss details of the investigation, but he said detectives have made no arrests.

Authorities did not release the victim's name, pending notification of his relatives.
