Teen hit by car in Sandy Springs

A 16-year-old girl was hit by a car in Sandy Springs on Friday, police said.

The teen was walking across Roswell Road at Dalrymple Road in a crosswalk when she was struck, Sandy Springs police spokesman Lt. Steve Rose said in a news release.

She was transported to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, he said. No information was immediately available on her condition.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with authorities, Rose said.

The teen’s name has not been released.
