Newton County authorities are calling a double fatal shooting Monday night a murder-suicide.

Robert and Lendene Dendy were found shot inside their home in the 200 block of Stone Ridge Way near Covington.

“Mr. Dendy’s wounds were self-inflicted,” Newton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Cortney Morrison told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, citing an autopsy report from the GBI.

Lendene Dendy was a third-grade teacher at Live Oak Elementary School.

Investigators have not been able to determine a motive.
