The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A 21-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in connection with the shooting death of a Gainesville car dealership employee.

Charles Weaver, 42, was found shot to death Friday inside Carriage Mitsubishi on Browns Bridge Road.

“During the crime, a 2011 Nissan Frontier with distinctive graphics belonging to Carriage Auto Group was stolen from the scene,” Gainesville police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said.

Investigators publicized the theft of the truck, and it was found Saturday in southwest Atlanta.

“An individual had unknowingly spotted the vehicle early on Saturday, and this person later saw a newscast describing the vehicle and the events that led up to the theft of the vehicle,” Holbrook said.

Gainesville police, along with the Atlanta police SWAT team, executed a search warrant on the Constitution Avenue apartments where the truck was found, and took Mark Anthony Taylor II into custody, according to Holbrook.

Taylor was charged with murder, armed robbery, theft by taking of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
