The Hall County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that a $1,000 reward has been set up in the case of a Gainesville High School student found murdered last August.

The body of 16-year-old Hannah Truelove was found Aug. 24 in a heavily-wooded area behind the Lake Lanier Club Apartments, where she lived with her mother. She had been stabbed multiple times, according to Hall sheriff’s Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks.

Wilbanks said the reward would be paid for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Truelove’s death.

Wilbanks said Wednesday that in addition to information on Truelove’s killer, “investigators are still specifically looking for a late 1990s to early 2000s four-door passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge, that may have been in the area during the evening hours of Aug. 23.”

He said the car being sought is light silver, with substantial front end damage and a driver’s door that is either white or a lighter shade of silver.

“Investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will aid the investigation,” Wilbanks said.
