Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is a whopping $425 million, making it the third largest in history, according to the Georgia Lottery Corp.

If you are lucky enough to win the multi-state drawing, there are two options to collect your prize money. You can get the full jackpot prize paid to you in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or you can choose the one-time cash option of $244 million.

Wondering what your odds are of winning? Players have a 1 in 175 million chance of getting the big bucks and a 1 in 32 chance of winning a prize, according to the Georgia Lottery.

That’s worse odds than dying from: lightning (1 in 126,158), legal execution (1 in 79,815), or choking on food (1 in 3,842), according to the National Safety Council.

The biggest Powerball jackpot ever won was $590.5 million by a Florida player in May.

Two Georgians won big in the Saturday Powerball drawing. Someone from Milton and a person from Douglasville won $1 million each. The winning numbers for that drawing were 21-24-36-42-45 and the Powerball was 15.

The Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are $2 per play.

Players have until 10 p.m. Wednesday to buy a ticket. The drawing will be held at 11 p.m.
