Rail service through the Lindbergh MARTA rail station has resumed after an apparent lightning strike briefly knocked out electricity to the station.
MARTA officials posted a notice after 8 a.m. on the agency’s website saying that northbound trains were terminating at the Arts Center station, while southbound trains were stopping at the Lenox and Buckhead stations due to a power outage at Lindbergh, and that buses would be shuttling passengers between those stations.
But MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson said just after 8:30 a.m. that “the issue has been resolved and we are resuming regular rail service.”
Hodgson said the power problem “might have been the result of a lightning strike.” A cluster of storms moved through northeast Atlanta between 8 and 9 a.m.
