Smyrna police said Monday that a Sunday night shooting that left a man dead was apparently drug-related.
The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. at a home in the 2100 block of Kennesaw Way off Pat Mell Road.
Neighbors told Channel 2 Action News that the gunman knocked on the front door, and after someone inside told the gunman, ‘we don’t know you,’ the door closed and the gunman fired multiple shots before fleeing.
At least one shot went through a bedroom wall, striking and killing 48-year-old Kenneth Anderson.
“The shooting does not appear to be random as it appears to be drug-related,” Smyrna police spokesman Michael Smith said Monday.
Former Gov. Roy Barnes on Thursday said state Rep. Tyrone Brooks will mount a vigorous challenge of a 30-count federal indictment that accuses him of stealing nearly $1 million over 20 years from a pair of charities.
