Police shut down parts of I-285 westbound at Ga. 400 on Sunday morning to reconstruct a fatal accident that occurred Thursday.
According to the victim’s mother, who witnessed the accident, Gabriella Faiz’s car stalled on I-285 westbound Thursday. Two cars slammed into the car and, within minutes, the car was engulfed in flames. Gabriella and her 1-year-old daughter, Jada, burned to death.
The accident snarled traffic on I-285 and Ga. 400 northbound through Thursday night. One other person was injured in the crash.
Georgia’s Department of Transportation urged drivers to avoid the area until the conclusion of the accident reconstruction, which was expected to last several hours.
