By News Staff

Drivers should expect delays in Brookhaven on Sunday as the Allstate 13.1 marathon makes its way through the city.

The race kicks off at 7 a.m. at Town Brookhaven and is slated to end by 11 a.m.

Johnson Ferry Road will be closed between Ashford Dunwoody and Peachtree Roads from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Police will also be intermittently closing roads along the route, which includes:

• Peachtree Road

• Lanier Drive

• Windsor Parkway

• Mabry Road

• East Brookhaven Drive

• Johnson Ferry Road

• Ashford Dunwoody Road

About 50 police officers from Brookhaven Police, DeKalb County Police and Georgia State Patrol will be assigned to intersections along the route to assist traffic flow through the intersections while maintaining the safety of the runners.

Drivers should anticipate delays and avoid the area if possible.
