Gwinnett to upgrade traffic monitoring system

By David Wickert

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

An upgrade to Gwinnett County’s traffic control center will allow motorists to better monitor traffic at the county’s major intersections.

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Tuesday awarded a $341,763 contract to Delcan Corporation to upgrade the control center. The upgrade will allow motorists to select a specific intersection and receive images delivered by traffic cameras every one to two minutes.

The upgrade also will allow Gwinnett to better monitor and manage traffic using the cameras, county officials said.
