A Fulton County school bus driver picked up a giant check instead of children after winning $400,000 in the Georgia Lottery.

Pamela Hampton, 59, of Ellenwood, won the top prize in the 20x The Money instant game.

“I bought it while on my lunch break,” said Hampton. “I was in the store when I scratched it.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Chevron Food Mart, 2050 Sylvan Road S.W. in Atlanta.

“I had to focus my eyes. I couldn’t believe it,” the grandmother of four said. “The clerk and I both started jumping up and down.”

Hampton, who has two children with her husband, Larry, intends to pay off bills with the winnings.
