One dead in single-vehicle crash on I-20 in Douglas County

Traffic was jammed headed into Atlanta from the far western suburbs Friday morning while authorities investigated a fatal wreck in Douglas County.

The crash happened about 7 a.m. on I-20 eastbound between Post Road and Ga. 5.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a vehicle ran off the interstate and into the woods, killing one person in the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The left lane of the interstate remained blocked at 9 a.m.
