Edwards proposes workplace bullying ban

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Fulton Commissioner Bill Edwards wants to enact a new policy prohibiting county employees from bullying each other. He will introduce a resolution at Wednesday’s meeting which, if approved, would make workplace bullying a fireable offense, punishable by a minimum of five days suspension without pay.

The resolution says the county’s existing anti-harassment and workplace violence policy doesn’t fully address bullying. Victims of severe verbal abuse, threats, intimidation or physical assault by their supervisors could take their complaints straight to the county manager’s office.
