The Atlanta VA Medical Center has partnered with the PGA of America to introduce disabled veterans to golf.
The free service, PGA HOPE, is designed to help veterans improve their social, physicial and emotional well-being as well as help them assimilate back into the mainstream community.
The next golf training session for veterans will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the PGA Tour Superstore, 2911 Busbee Parkway, in Kennesaw. Participants are already receiving care at the medical center.
An economy that sent more people to the workforce instead of the classroom, tougher requirements for financial aid, and a higher bar for admissions are among the factors that contributed to a drop in enrollment at the state’s public colleges and universities for the second year in a row.
