DeKalb school board to consider attendance lines, school closures

The DeKalb County school board will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. to discuss school closures and attendance line changes recommended this week by Superintendent Cheryl Atkinson.
Her plan would close a dozen schools that were slated for renovations. Atkinson proposes using the money saved to accelerate work on other projects. She also has recommended issuing $80 million in bonds against future sales tax revenue to fund work earlier.
