Cobb firefighters stress safety with open burning

By Andria Simmons

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services issued a reminder this week that open burning is allowed from Oct. 1 through April 30, and residents may burn limited yard debris with some restrictions.

Burning must be attended by an adult, a water hose long enough to reach the fire must be on hand, and yard debris fires must be at least 50 feet structures, including fences.

The fire must be extinguished at least 1 hour before sunset. Fire officials may prohibit burning when weather conditions make it hazardous. For additional info: http://fire.cobbcountyga.gov/fire-marshal/index.htm
