A convicted child molester has been sentenced to 220 years in prison.

Jason Jerome Hambrick, 23, was convicted Friday for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old Johns Creek girl who was left in his care, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard’s office said.

The incidents occurred during a one-month span in July 2011, the DA’s office said in a statement released Monday.

According to investigators, Hambrick forced the girl to engage in sexual acts on several occasions, causing physical injury. The assaults were discovered by the girl’s relatives, who saw her making inappropriate sexual gestures, the statement said.

Hambrick was arrested in August 2011 after a search of his home. Authorities also collected DNA evidence from Hambrick, the statement said.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford sentenced him to 50 years on each of the four sex-related charges and 20 years on a charge of first-degree cruelty to children. All of the sentences will run consecutively, Howard’s office said.
