A Budweiser truck crashed near Lake Lanier on Monday afternoon, nearly rolling into the water.

The single-vehicle wreck happened on Ga. 316 and Jot ‘Em Down Road around 2:15 p.m., according to Karleen Chalker with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver lost control of the truck while attempting to swat away a hornet or insect that had flown into the cab of his vehicle, Chalker said.

“The truck went to the very edge of the water, but never went in the water,” she said.

The driver wasn’t injured, she said, but was transported to a hospital to be checked out, as per Budweiser’s policy when there is an accident.

The wreck tied up traffic on Ga. 369.

And there was no beer on the truck.
