The Atlanta Freethought Society will co-sponsor a blood drive with the American Red Cross from noon to 4 p.m. on Jan. 1 in Smyrna.

President-elect Rick Pace said in a release that members hope to also raise money for the Sandy Hook School Support Fund in Connecticut. The fund was established to help families of the victims of the school massacre and the Newtown community.

The blood drive will be held at the AFS Hall, 4775 N. Church Lane.
