The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A suspect was arrested Thursday in a New Year’s Day shooting that left a teenager dead, Atlanta police said.

Jared Billings, 18, died in the shooting, which happened around 9 a.m. Jan. 1 at a home on Epworth Street.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said witnesses told investigators that Billings had gotten into an argument with another male, who pulled a gun and shot him.

Early Thursday, Atlanta police arrested Ronnie Clay Jr., 38, Jones said.

Clay was charged with murder and taken to the Fulton County Jail.
