Army vet missing after leaving Buckhead bar

An army veteran who was recently honorably discharged after a tour in Afghanistan has disappeared, Atlanta police said Thursday.

Randal Andrew Ackerman, 31, of Sandy Springs, was last seen leaving Hangovers bar in Buckhead around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. He was wearing a red shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops.

Ackerman is 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a silver 2012 Ford Focus with Alaska tag number GKN254.

Anyone with information regarding this case should notify 911 or the Atlanta Police Department’s Adult Missing Persons Squad at 404-546-4235.
