It remains to be seen whether anyone will win Wednesday night’s record $500 million Powerball jackpot, but one lottery player in Thomasville is waking up $49 million richer after matching all six numbers in Tuesday’s Mega Millions game.

Another Georgia Lottery player matched the first five numbers in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing – 5, 12, 26, 42 and 49 – but not the Mega Ball of 24. That player won $250,000.

Susie Q’s, a convenience store at 13091 U.S. Highway 319 N. in Thomasville, sold the lucky jackpot ticket, Georgia Lottery officials said.

Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot is the largest in the multi-state game’s history, but falls short of the Mega Millions record of $646 million set earlier this year on March 30. That jackpot was split by players in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland.
