Marietta and Cobb schools receive $200,000 grant

By Daarel Burnette II

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The AT&T’s Aspire program recently gave Communities in Schools of Marietta/Cobb County (CISMCC) a $200,000 grant to extend the program’s efforts to remove non-academic barriers to students’ success in schools.

The Aspire program gives local organizations grants to help prevent the dropout crisis.

CISMCC pairs students with tutors and family services to help stabilize homes. The program will use the money to fund more school on-site coordinators.
