The driver of the car involved in Thursday’s collision with a Clayton County school bus has died, authorities said Friday.
Clayton County police spokesman Officer Phong Nguyen did not release the woman’s name or any other details.
Thursday morning, a bus carrying children to a Clayton County school was involved in a wreck on Tara Boulevard, just south of Tara Road.
Nguyen said he wasn’t sure how many children were on the bus, but Channel 2 Action News reported there were 12 students on their way to Rex Mill Middle School.
One student was transported to the hospital in an ambulance and three others were taken by their parents, according to police and media reports. The remaining children were not hurt.
The driver of the car was flown to a local hospital, where she died.
The wreck remains under investigation.
