Henry County honors STAR student, his teacher

By Nancy Badertscher

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Union Grove High School senior Anthony Ciccarello was named the STAR Student for Henry County at the local STAR ceremony on Thursday. The Chamber of Commerce hosted the event at Eagle’s Landing Country Club. Ciccarello was one of 13 students public and private schools in the country to earn school STAR student recognition. The recognition results from a combination of a student’s SAT score and his or her ranking in the top 10 percent of their class. The student chosen for the award then gets to select his or her STAR Teacher. Ciccarello chose Jackie Hand, an English teacher at Union Grove High, as his STAR teacher.
