Three law enforcement agencies Friday investigated the death of a Gwinnett County man whose body was found at a garbage transfer station in nearby Walton County.

The man, identified as Raul Alayon, 59, of Loganville, died of extensive blunt force trauma, according to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office. His body was found at the Monroe Transfer Station on Cherry Hill Road in Walton.

Workers at the Monroe station found Alayon’s body early Tuesday morning in refuse delivered to the site, according to the GBI. Sanitation trucks empty receptacles in the area and use the Monroe station as a drop off point.

Authorities have not ruled out foul play, according to GBI statement. The autopsy revealed no other apparent injuries.

Ayalon was last seen alive late Monday night or early Tuesday morning in a commercial area off U.S. 78 and Rosebud Road in Gwinnett, the GBI said

In addition to the GBI, the Monroe and Gwinnett police departments were investigating.
