A man allegedly so upset over a drug purchase that he killed the “middle man” last summer is now in custody, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
U.S. Marshals located and arrested Norman Lee Griffin in the Pensacola, Fla., area Friday, according to Deputy Shannon Volkodav. Griffin, 36, was being held Monday night in the Baldwin County jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Gwinnett, Volkodav said.
Investigators believe Leatherberry was a middle man in a drug sale earlier the same day in Atlanta, Cpl. Jake Smith previously said. But the buyers weren’t happy and went to Leatherberry’s apartment to get their money back, according to police.
Leatherberry couldn’t return the money and fled his apartment, Smith said.
