DeKalb County police are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a man inside a car at an apartment complex early Sunday.

Police received a report of a shooting at the Vineyard of Flat Shoals apartments off of Flat Shoals Road around 5 a.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

When officers arrived, they found the driver, Demarco Booker, 18, dead from several gunshot wounds inside a late model jaguar with the brake lights on.

Family and friends of Booker gathered outside of his residence at the Highlands at East Atlanta Apartments, a short distance from the complex where he was killed, according to Channel 2.

“We just want justice. Somebody say something. Somebody (knows) something, so we just hope somebody comes forward,” Booker’s friend Lashaun Eberhart told Channel 2.

Earlier Sunday, a Channel 2 crew saw loved ones huddled outside of the crime scene, where detectives gathered evidence near the Jaguar.

One witness told police he saw a man jump out of Booker’s car, then go around to the driver’s side to argue with Booker before shooting him several times. Police said other witnesses have come forward, according to Channel 2.
