By Alexis Stevens

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A Cobb County woman was arrested for allegedly striking a juvenile with a golf club, according to police.

Anna Lee Balogun, of Austell, was charged with first degree child cruelty after striking the boy twice in the abdomen with an aluminum eight-iron club during an argument, according to the arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The victim’s name, age and relation to Balogun were not released.

“Said accused then poked said victim in the abdomen area on his left side, causing the golf club to break in half,” the warrant states.

While struggling with Balogun and trying to defend himself, the victim cut his hand on the exposed, sharp metal, the Cobb County police warrant states.

Balogun was arrested Saturday after the alleged assault and booked into the Cobb jail, where she remained until Monday afternoon, booking records show. She was released after posting $5,000 bond.
