A Cobb County teenager told police he was robbed at gunpoint by perpetrators who then shot him in the left leg.
But then his friend told police a different story, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Samario Glenn Devante Koger, 18, of Marietta, actually shot himself, according to Marietta police. After a friend told police Koger shot himself, Koger admitted it, the warrant states.
Koger “admitted to lying about the robbery, and stated he found a silver .357 caliber revolver, concealed it in his pants, and accidentally shot himself while running,” the warrant states.
When the gun slipped, Koger grabbed it, accidentally pulling the trigger, he told police. After receiving medical treatment, Koger was arrested and charged with making false statements, a felony, in addition to two misdemeanor charges, according to Cobb County jail records.
Koger was booked into jail Jan. 18 and released early Monday after posting $2,970 bond.
